Premium earbuds have seen a surge in popularity during 2022, and the number of options for people shopping for their perfect pair is bewildering – but how about a set made by a Dublin-based firm?

The Irish audio specialist firm Onesonic has launched a new set of buds which feature all the top specs you’d expect from the big brands, but they cost just £109. 99.

Among the features are noise cancelling through multiple microphones, 7mm drivers, Bluetooth® 5. 0 technology, 40mAh batteries per side and IPX4 splash resistance. They even pair up with Siri and Google Assistant.

Although on the compact side, as wireless earbuds go, they’re remarkably comfortable and fit my ears very securely. There’s three sizes of silicon tips included, and that’s something I always look out for with earbuds because my ears don’t seem to be the best shape for them. But I got on fine with the Onesonics.

Sound quality is lovely. The clarity is superb, especially with the volume and that trick noise cancelling wound up, and Onesonic claims these have HD audio, with “superior bass performance”. No complaints here, there’s a welcome richness to them from all sorts of music styles.

Battery is quoted at five hours per earphone and 20 hours in general but I bettered that on a few occasions while using it, which is interesting. The charging case is nice and compact too, which is nice.

At this price point, there’s little to complain about. They’re a really nice set of earbuds which offer plenty for the price. Silicon suggestions won’t suit everyone’s ear, but if they do, they’re hard to overlook.
